I had many hours in the sciences as a premedical student, but was also very interested in literature and language. I transferred to U of A with many hours from a special year of intense humanities studies, with a special emphasis on the creative process in both science and art. The art of medicine depends largely on empathy and knowledge about our psychology, our evolution, our development, art, our place in history and current events. This is humanities.
I am so proud of my General Studies degree. I was able to blend my extensive studies in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Language, Literature, and Humanities, many of which were Honors courses, to obtain this degree. I'm very excited that this degree is getting the recognition it deserves.
