Schwartzberg-Chang Award for Interdisciplinary Studies Internship Award

Donors Ross E. Schwartzberg and Jacqueline Chang established this award to support students in Interdisciplinary Studies who complete an internship as part of their program of study. Internships are a key means of connecting students’ learning in the classroom to real-world practices, where they can further develop their interdisciplinary skills in their selected field of study. Schwartzberg, a diagnostic radiology specialist, is an alumnus of the program. Each academic year, students completing an approved internship during that period can apply for an award. Multiple students can receive the award for the same academic year.

Value of Schwartzberg-Chang Award: variable

  • Applicants must be majors in Interdisciplinary Studies (degrees included are the Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS), and the Bachelor of General Studies (BGS)).
  • Students must have completed an internship and earned credits for IDS 393/493 within the current academic year. This includes the fall and spring semester as well as summer sessions. Students who have not completed their internship at the time of application, are still required to have submitted an application to complete an internship and/or be enrolled for IDS 393/493 for a summer session for at least 1 credit.
