The education and degree framed my thinking, writing, and critical reasoning skills, and opened the door to acceptance to graduate school, which led to earning a Ph.D. in Anthropology and Ethnomusicology. In turn, this led to my hiring as a faculty member at Vassar College, which has since taken me into a senior administrative role in higher ed.
